Question

Dear Sir

I have a Rover 75 with Hi-line Sat Nav which doubles up as an analogue television. Since 31 March 2010,when Cardiff went digital,I cannot now receive any channels. I see that you have a DVB-T tuner on your web site at £149 and also a nationwide fitting service. Would you please give me an all-inclusive price;I live in Cardiff.

Thanking you, in anticipation of receiving your reply at soonest.

Answer
You actually have a couple of options for your vehicle:-

Rover 75 Hi-Line Sat Nav Analogue – Upgrade To Digital TV

Add On Clip On Rear View Mirror Monitor Option

The option you have found on my website is the N7RVM which is the clip on rearview mirror with built-in 7″ monitor SD Card, USB Input and built-in games with joystick controller @ £149.90 + £80 installation (approx 2 hrs). This would clip onto your orignal Rover 75 rearview mirror with the TV tuner hidden say in the glove box. You would operate the TV tuner via a remote control and remote eye placed somewhere either on your dash-board or above your head to move up and down the channels.

Interface With Existing Rover 75 Analogue TV Tuner And In Dash Screen Option

We can also interface with your original TV tuner putting the NV7 TV tuner (no mirror) through your in dash screen. You would require a separate interface for us to achieve this, the price for the interface and NV7 tuner would be £89.65 and installation £50 (1 hour).

Question

Many thanks for your e-mail reply.

Because I already have a TV screen (which doubles up for the Sat Nav),I assume that I would require the £89.65 model. When you say I would require a separate interface, what exactly do you mean? Also, the installation charge of £50.Is that for the fitting at your premises or at my home?I live in Cardiff. I’d be grateful if you could get back to me.

Answer

You are correct, the interface is included in the £89.65 price and the local (Cardiff) installer would require this to plug-in (dove tail), with your existing TV tuner. If you have a local auto electrical company that you use they should be able to carry out the work or I can arrange an installer if required

I hope that this information is helpful, if you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to get in contact with me.

Kindest regards

I also have a Rover 75 with Sat Nav and anologue TV, and I too am very interested in the upgrade with the interface for the existing tuner and built in dash screen.

However when my TV stopped working due to the digital switch over the radio also stopped on FM and now only works with short wave or AM wave bands, is this a seperate problem, or will the interface correct this also

Good day to you and thank you for taking the time to email me.

How interesting! I am no expert on the electronic side of things however, this sounds as if you have a dual antenna for the FM and the analogue TV signals and that the existing aerial you have (For FM radio purposes) has a fault as the FM transmission signals have not changed.

A digital TV tuner via the interface, will provide you with DAB radio so at least you would be able to get some digital radio stations. Your choice will now be what TV tuner and antenna combination to choose:- I have prices ranging from £49.90 up to £369.90.

If you require any additional information please do not hesitate to get in contact with me.

      Kindest regards

Hi Steve and thank you kindly for getting in touch.

Equipment varies between £85.00 for a single TV tuner and £240 for a twiin diversity TV tuner (Twice the performance plus USB input).

Both of these would be fed into your existing tuner via an interface cable which would show the digital TV pictures on your front screen, it also incor[porates DAB (digital audi broadcast) radio channels. The Tv tuner would be operated via the remote control that comes with it, aim this at the remote eye which can be placed somewhere up front in the vehicle and you will be able to go through the tuners menu on your front screen and select channels accordingly.

Installation would be £80 + Vat or £80 cash and can be carried out at a time and place suitable to you.

On order of the products, you would receive these generally within 3 – 4 business days.

I hope this is helpful, if you have any additional queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

      Kindest regards

Good day to you Joan and thank you so much for taking your time to email me.

If you have a look at this webpage, you will find my latest solutions to upgrading your analogue system to digital free to view channels.

Installation would be depndent on what system you choose, £80 + Vat (or £80 Cash) approx 1.5 hrs Installation time, or £140 + Vat (Or £140 cash) approx 2.5 – 3 hours installation time.

I should be able to locate someone local to you to carry out the installation, hopefully they would not have to travel too far.

I hope this information is helpful, if you have any additional questions, please keep asking.

Good health to you and kindest regards
